Firewood, time to shake a leg

With all of this year's building work I have completely neglected my firewood processing. Looking in the woodshed, I see there's not enough for the winter. Hopefully, it won't be as persistently cold as last year but I will still have to buy in some coal.

I'm pretty certain that I will be getting a wood chip boiler to replace the oil boiler, especially with seven additional radiators to heat. I won't be buying chips though but instead I will make my own.

Today, I was coppicing the rhododendron hedge along the north side of the property. Plenty of logs for the stove and lots of sticks for chipping. My willow plantation is doing fine and I will plant more next February. This acre can easily produce enough wood chips to heat the house during the winter.
