Food bank bailout

So, there is a "growing demand for food banks in breadline Britain" says the liberal bleeding heart BBC.

Well, in the something for nothing culture in which this country exists, people are always looking for a new angle to score a freebie.

If people are in need of food then fine, give it to them but not in addition to welfare benefits. Welfare is to pay for the roof over your head and the food you might eat. It is not for a mobile phone, a Sky satellite television subscription, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

People should have to do community work for their benefits in return for free rent and food but no more should they receive cash because we don't know what they spend it on.

I dug up a sack of potatoes from about 5 square metres of garden this week. Another 5 square metres produced all the onions I will need for a year. My yearly supermarket shopping bill comes to less than £400 a year. How much do people on benefits make per year? A lot more than is needed for food and rent.

Looking at the ghastly contents of a typical food parcel, I will always prefer to grow my own food. The typical box is a mountain of processed carbohydrate and sugar. Still, if it sends them to their grave quicker then so much the better.

Child benefit should be abolished too. Having a child is not a right, it is a responsibility. A lot of people have children just for the benefits to top up their other benefits. And all to pay for anything but for the benefit of their children, judging by the number of dysfunctional people dragged up before the courts for child abuse. If you can't afford a child then don't have one. Don't expect others to pay for it.

Eventually this will get to the level where more people will need "free" food than people earning the taxes to pay for it. By which time the knowledge of self-reliance will have been lost by the population.

Don't send me any comments standing up for these people who don't understand the basics of self-reliance and sustainability. I won't read them and I won't post them.

Exactly, and perhaps it's about time some of the head-bangers who seem to be in charge had the bottle to admit this.

So according to you all people on benefits have sky tv, drink and smoke and would generally like something for nothing. Wrong.
People who have worked for years and lost their jobs would have to 'work' for some of what they have already paid in years of tax to the state that then want to screw them.
The natural conclusion of what you say is that only the wealthy would have children.
Self reliance is great in theory, provided you have the tools to begin with but we don't all have a garden to grow food in like you.
