Compost it

The soil can only feed you and your family if you feed the soil. Every time you grow vegetables, nutrients are taken from the soil. These nutrients have to be replaced and for that you need to make compost.

Nature makes its own compost through the process of mulching. As dead leaves fall from trees, and other organic matter falls to the ground, this matter rots down or is dragged underground and fed upon by worms. The soil is enriched by this process and so the cycle of life continues.

Making your own compost heap is very easy and is detailed here.
For those who have facilities, composting human waste is a must for the true ecopunk. Nothing is more damaging to the environment than human waste. Read more about composting human waste here. The Humanure Handbook
